Acadian Jig

Shediac Multipurpose Centre

Acadian jig is a traditional dance that is an integral part of Acadian cultural heritage. It is characterized by quick foot movements and an energetic rhythm, often accompanied by traditional music played on the fiddle, accordion, or guitar. The Acadian jig is more than just a dance: it is a living celebration of Acadian history and culture.

Beginner workshop open to everyone, no experience needed.

Paint your lobster on a cedar board – Coastal Celebration

An artistic tribute to our sea. Sit back, breathe in the scent of cedar, and let yourself be guided in creating your very own painted lobster on wood. Led by a local artist, you’ll learn techniques to craft a vibrant and unique piece, infused with Acadian and maritime character. All materials are provided—all that’s left is for you to dive in, brush in hand!

Whether you’re a beginner or a textile art enthusiast, you’ll learn simple techniques of needle felting to create your own flowers, figurines, or decorative objects. Together, we’ll also craft a large collective felt piece that will remain as a symbol of creativity and community.

A moment to slow down, explore with your hands, and leave with a creation that reflects you.
